Friday, September 27, 2024 ...from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Venue: F.E. Dinshaw Library, 2nd Floor, IMC Building, IMC Marg, Churchgate, Mumbai

We are pleased to inform you that the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry through its Knowledge (Skill and Education) Committee is organising an exclusive interactive session on Negotiations scheduled on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the F.E. Dinshaw Library, 2nd Floor, IMC Building, IMC Marg, Churchgate, Mumbai.

This session will enlighten the young minds How to Negotiate (almost) anything.
In this masterclass we will work through core principles for best practice negotiation, followed by the opportunity to put these principles into practice in the form of a negotiation exercise.

Whilst the core principles may appear simple, implementing them during a live negotiation may prove more challenging for you to do you than you think.

After the negotiate exercise there will be an opportunity to discuss as a group your experiences in the exercise and share reflections on the challenges and issues you faced in attempting to take a best practice approach to negotiations.

This power packed interactive masterclass will be conducted by Prof Peter Gahn - Associate Dean Teaching and Learning at University of Melbourne.

Peter Gahan is Professor of Management at the University of Melbourne and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Workplace Leadership, where he was Foundation Director from 2012 to 2017. He has previously held academic and visiting positions at UNSW, Monash, University of South California, The European University Institute, Cardiff Business School, New York University and Stockholm Business School.
He has also worked as a senior public servant as Director of Workplace Innovation in the Victorian Department of Industry, Innovation and Regional Development. He has undertaken commissioned research for both state and commonwealth governments on areas related to employment relations, regulatory arrangements to support workplace innovation, and the consequences of various regulatory labour market reforms.
Over the last 25 years, Professor Gahan has published widely on conflict and negotiations, employment relations and collective bargaining, high performance workplaces, labour markets and the future of work, and the consequences of labour market regulation.
